The Waratahs Rugby Union Club welcomes the addition of John Taufaao to the Coaching team for 2017.
John will take on a dedicated role of ‘Forwards Skills’ Coach.
Head Coach, Carl Manu said, “It is really good to have John formally involved with the Club and I know he will help me and Joel enormously in managing the demands of coaching.”
John has been involved for The Waratahs for a number of years but in recent times has had to limit his involvement due to work commitments. John said his work commitments have now eased a bit and he is really keen to be involved with The Waratahs. “It’s good to see the work Carl and the team have done within the Club. Player attendance, attitude and culture are really positive at the moment and I am keen to contribute to the ongoing success and future of the Club”, John said.
John has played most of his rugby in north Queensland and has represented at a Country level in both Colts and Seniors. John has excellent technical knowledge of rugby and is a strong communicator. John is well respected by all within the Club and highly regarded within NHRU circles.
John has a warm personality and is very approachable. Players are encouraged to approach John for any advice around team tactics or their own game. Jim Heins said “John has a wealth of knowledge and is a brilliant communicator with a calm manner”. Jim said “Players should make use of John and encourages any and all players to ask John for his advice.”
